Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
The Game Next Door is developed by Syrge Inc. and managed by Nothing Drops for players. Syrge Inc. remains responsible for this service and the personal information described in this policy. This policy describes the data TGND collects to run sports events, leagues, community features, accounts, safety tools, and notifications.
Data we collect
- Account information such as email address, user ID, username, display name, authentication provider, and password credentials managed by Supabase Auth.
- Profile and community information such as avatar, bio, city, sport preferences, availability, posts, replies, reports, blocks, friends, and direct messages.
- Event information such as Drop-in registrations, League teams, rosters, organizer roles, scores, standings, invitations, and manual payment status recorded by organizers.
- Optional photos selected by users for profile avatars.
- Device and notification data such as Expo push tokens, notification preferences, delivery status, and app interaction needed to operate notifications.
- When product analytics is enabled for a release, PostHog receives limited product-usage events, platform, app version, release channel, environment, signed-in state, and its ordinary device, browser, operating-system, language, and approximate geographic properties. Before sign-in, events use a pseudonymous analytics or device identifier and are not associated by TGND with a signed-in account. In production releases, after sign-in, TGND uses the internal TGND user ID and email address to associate product-usage activity with the account. Native iOS and Android releases use product analytics only and do not use session replay.
- Operational records such as support actions, moderation actions, security logs, and diagnostics needed to protect the service.
How we use data
We use this data to create and secure accounts, show sports events and community content, manage registration and rosters, deliver notifications, process reports and blocks, provide support, prevent abuse, and maintain the service.
Internal support access
Authorized Syrge Inc. staff may access account, event, league, organization, community, report, notification, and operational records when needed to provide support, investigate safety reports, prevent abuse, or operate the service. Staff access does not make staff a participant, team member, captain, organizer, or organization member.
Private direct messages are not generally browsable by staff. Direct-message content may be reviewed only when a participant reports the message or conversation through TGND's safety tools. Privileged support actions are logged for audit.
Sharing
Public or community-visible profile and event content is shown according to app privacy settings and product roles. TGND uses service providers including Supabase for backend/auth/storage, Expo for native builds, updates, and push notifications, Vercel for web hosting, Google for OAuth and Places, Resend for invitation email delivery, and PostHog for product analytics. PostHog may also provide optional, web-only session replay if TGND enables that feature.
Tracking and advertising
TGND does not sell personal information and does not use cross-app tracking or third-party advertising identifiers. Product analytics is used to understand how the app is used and improve features and reliability, not to build advertising profiles. In production releases, TGND sends the signed-in user's internal TGND user ID and email address to PostHog to associate product-usage activity with that account. TGND does not send display names, chat text, roster names, waiver content, scores, invitation or claim tokens, payment information, or raw errors to PostHog.
Session replay is currently disabled in production web and native releases. If TGND enables optional session replay on the web in the future, it will be separately disclosed and controlled through a web privacy choice. It will not be enabled in native iOS or Android releases. Web replay will be restricted from authentication, recovery, settings, private chat, waiver, token, and other sensitive routes, with inputs and designated sensitive text masked.
Your choices
You can edit profile fields, notification preferences, community privacy settings, blocks, and sign-in methods in the app. You can request account deletion from Profile, Settings, Account, Delete account. See Privacy Choices for a concise summary.
